I’d like to welcome you to our 46th concert season that is themed to explore the exciting creativity that emerges at the crossroads of cultures. I’ve invited some of Toronto’s most beloved classical artists to help us delve into these contrasting musical styles. We’ll contrast the Arabic Oud with the European classical guitar. The dexterous clarinet of Eric Abramovitz will span the German Romanticism of Carl Maria Weber with the exuberant iconoclastic klezmer clarinet. There will be fables from Russia’s past, Quebec, and even a work based on a classic Hollywood cartoon. It will be an exciting marketplace of sounds and traditions.
