A native Texan but has lived in New York City the last 3 decades music directing and conducting over a dozen Off-Broadway productions, playing in the pits of Broadway shows, and conducting in regional theaters across the United States. In 2024 his brass and percussion piece, Beyond the Horizon, was premiered by the
Meadows Wind Symphony at SMU in Dallas, Texas. The Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra (NYC) premiered. Of Heavenly Joy for string orchestra in NYC in 2021 as well as performing it again in a later concert. Brent is currently in preparation for recording his new pieces: Enter the Valley – a new suite for piano of 7 movements,
Unstrung for Viola and Piano in 3 movements, and a set of String Quartets composed during the pandemic. His music is published by Diamond S Music.
