This performance features an entertaining and diverse collection of music for string orchestra and includes musicians from four Scarborough ensembles.

Edward Elgar – Serenade in E minor, Op. 20

Jean Sibelius – Humoresque in D major, Op. 87, No. 2 (for solo violin and strings)

Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-George – String Quartet in G minor, Op. 1, No. 3 (arranged for string orchestra)

Peter Ashbourne – Jamaica Folk

*Shreya Jha – Farmyard Adventure

*Cris Derksen – Prairie Promise

Florence Price (arranged by Iain Farrington) – Symphony No. 1, 3rd Movement

*Soon Hee Newbold – Invictus (featuring Sitema student performers)

COREY LYLE GEMMELL: Corey is a native of Hamilton, Ontario. He has distinguished himself as a soloist and chamber musician with performances in Canada, Germany, the United States, and China.
